Collaborate on UMMM & Mindset Maturity Research
An invitation to universities, researchers and institutions interested in independent scrutiny, pilot studies and cross-cultural research.
UMMM is being developed as an open research programme rather than a closed doctrine. Collaboration is welcomed where it strengthens conceptual clarity, methodological rigour, cultural relevance and independent testing.
Areas for collaboration
Expert Construct Review
Review the four proposed dimensions, assess overlap with established constructs, evaluate cultural appropriateness and identify theoretical weaknesses before pilot testing.
Cognitive Interviews
Examine how participants from different backgrounds interpret key terms, questions and scenarios before large-scale administration.
Pilot & Psychometric Studies
Test item behaviour, reliability, factor structure, convergent and discriminant validity, and the value of dimension profiles relative to a composite score.
Cross-Cultural & Institutional Research
Investigate whether the dimensions are interpreted and measured similarly across countries, universities, public institutions, professions and age groups.
Expert Review of the UMMM Mindset Maturity Diagnostic
The UMMM research programme is currently developing an experimental instrument to investigate whether the four proposed dimensions of Mindset Maturity—Relational Identity, Moral Anchoring, Temporal Consciousness and Self-Agency—can be operationalised and examined empirically.
Before pilot testing, the prototype instrument is being subjected to independent academic review. Expert reviewers are invited to critically examine issues including construct definition, conceptual overlap, item relevance and clarity, cultural appropriateness, social-desirability effects, and potential measurement limitations.
The purpose of expert review is not to endorse or confirm UMMM, but to identify weaknesses in the proposed constructs and measurement approach and determine what should be revised before empirical testing.
Researchers with relevant expertise in psychology and psychometrics, development studies, political economy, education, governance, ethics, African studies and related fields are welcome to express interest in contributing to this stage of the research programme.

The prototype questionnaire, scoring information and full expert-review materials are shared privately with selected reviewers and are not published on this website at this stage.
What collaboration does not mean
Collaborators are not being asked to endorse UMMM. Critical review, alternative explanations, failed hypotheses and evidence that a construct should be revised or separated are valuable outcomes. The research programme should be strengthened by independent scrutiny rather than protected from it.

Researchers and research groups in psychology and psychometrics, development studies, political economy, African studies, education, governance, ethics, organisational behaviour and cross-cultural measurement.
